Roll Out!

9.26.2011

So every man my age has some love for the Transformers and even more so now that Michael Bay has added thousands of kilos of explosions along with Megan Fox and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. That being said how awesome would it be to own a real transformer? Retorical question. Everyone knows it would be awesome. Get ready for your mind to be blown!

This concept for a transforming house has to be the next best thing since sliced bread, and from what I hear, sliced bread is pretty awesome. In case you didn’t read the article and just watched the video, the house is built on a series of rails that allow it to change shape to adapt to the changing weather conditions of Sweden. You can give your house more or less exposure to the elements in order to become more green as  well as apparently automatically move your kids to the other side of the house.

They mention some of the many issues that there are with the house from weight to making sure sections fit correctly. I personally would be most worried about keeping those tracks clear from the large amounts of snow and ice that accumulate in the Lapland area. I hated shoveling the steps and driveway for my dad especially when there was a thick layer of ice covering everything. Imagine that difficulty magnified by too much to think about. Not to mention the danger of telling your small children to go play in the yard that could at any moment turn into a Sawesque whirling machine of death. Buyer beware.

Looks like I’ll just be waiting for GM to come out with an actual transforming Camaro that can save me from any intergalactic invaders. Until then, I’ll catch you on the flip side!
